How to generate Lorem Ipsum for a layout and replace it before launch

Use placeholder text for a defined layout task

Lorem Ipsum is useful when you need temporary text to inspect a card, column or article layout before the real wording is ready. Decide which part of the design you are checking and roughly how much content it should hold. This generator supplies repeated Latin-style filler from a fixed word bank, not a meaningful article, translation or copywriting service. Do not use it as a substitute for checking whether a heading explains a page or whether a button’s real label fits.

Generate a small word-count example

Open the Lorem Ipsum Generator. Choose Words under Mode, enter 5 in Count and select Calculate / convert. The result is lorem ipsum dolor sit amet. For a longer sample, choose 25 words. Read the output before copying it, and use Download if you want a plain text file. There is no sentence-count mode, themed vocabulary selector or exact-character-count control. The site’s interface language changes its labels; it does not translate the filler into that language.

Compare words with paragraph mode

In Paragraphs mode, Count 2 generates two text blocks separated by a blank line. Each generated paragraph contains 60 space-separated words, begins with a capital and ends with a full stop. These are consistent-length sample blocks, not a realistic distribution of short and long paragraphs. With the same mode and count, another run produces the same text rather than a fresh random passage. Change the amount or replace a portion with realistic copy when testing a layout that needs varied line lengths.

Paste into the correct kind of editor

The result is plain text. Blank lines in the output are not exported HTML paragraph tags, and the download is not a styled document. A rich-text editor may convert pasted blank lines according to its own rules, while an HTML template needs appropriate paragraph markup. Check the result in the actual receiving editor. Use real headings, links, long names, numbers and a realistic short or long paragraph to inspect wrapping and spacing. A filler sample that looks tidy does not prove that the final content will fit.

Respect limits and remove the filler before publication

The count must be a whole number: 1–5,000 in Words mode or 1–100 in Paragraphs mode. Editing the mode or count clears the previous output, so calculate again after a change. Generation runs in your browser without uploading a draft. Before launch, replace the placeholder with checked final wording and search the design for remaining filler. Recheck phone widths, headings and buttons after replacement. This tool does not edit your website, publish a page or validate the meaning and completeness of your finished content.
